Do I have to be experienced in exercise to practice ChiBall?

The ChiBall Method is a very gentle exercise concept designed in such a way that anyone of any age and ability should be able to enjoy the benefits of this unique class without having any previous exercise experience.  Classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as the more experienced.  If you already hold an interest in alternative therapies such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tai Chi and Yoga, you will find this unique holistic exercise class of particular interest.

I have heard about Pilates but I don't really understand what it involves....can you explain?

The exercise concept known as Pilates was pioneered by German-born Joseph Pilates and works by using our abdominals, back muscles, legs and arms in very controlled exercises in order to develop core strength and to stabilize the spine.  This increasingly popular exercise concept is now used to treat many postural problems caused by our modern lifestyle and can help prevent injury and the onset of osteoporosis in later years.

I have a disability, will I still be able to do ChiBall and Pilates?

If you have any concerns about your suitability to ChiBall and/or Pilates classes you should contact Rosalyn in order to discuss your needs as an individual.  It may be more suitable for you to attend one to one sessions as opposed to a group situation so that exercises can be chosen for your specific needs.  In general however, modifications can be suggested for you within group sessions which will  be more suitable for your particular posture or disability.  The use of small equipment such as a chair or the arc barrel can aid in the comfort of practicing certain exercises.
